Kenny Roberts

Went over to Kon Tiki motorcycles in Pacific Beach, full of nostalgia. Found this old cycle news with this Kenny Roberts Article in it and this photo of him on his BMX bike.

Moreland Choppers Solano

Rain couldn't keep up but it got here finally. Moreland Choppers in Solano hooked me up with a Cycle Electric Generator for a good price. Hung out with Mr. Moreland at the swap with some other ol' timers. Got shown the lowdown on how to start a big twin with a mag by setting the kicker so you get the full rotation and top of the compression stroke and fattest spark. If that works like he said... then that may one of the best things I've gotten at a swap in a long time.

Big 3 SD

Checked out the big 3 swap in San Diego. It was after 5 and technically over but people were hanging out, drinking and bar b Q'n. Its huge and would take a long time to walk it. I got my bike in shh don't tell anyone, and putted around looking for the bike stuff . Hung out with Mr. Moreland of Moreland choppers and his friends.
Supposed to rain today so guess the rain followed me down again sorry A!

My phone ran out of juice.
Staying at my old friend Dan's place in SD. Known him since I was 16 more like a brother to me. Had quite a few adventures all over the world together.

My generator light came on and sure enough the battery isn't being charged. Bike made it to Dan's place and didn't leave me stranded. At least I know the warning light works! I was too tired to deal with it and passed out on Dan's couch I hadn't slept since tuesday night as I left at 730pm wed after working most of the day. Got into LA at noon. The 5 had stop and go traffic all the way to San Diego. I stopped at San Onofre to check out the waves as I was feeling too tired and frazzled to deal with lane splitting but eventually got back on the 5 after an hour or so. Lane splitting the last 50 miles of stop and go to the stadium where the swap was, but got there after 5.
1200 miles later was feeling a bit delirious from lack of sleep, passed out on Dan's couch after he made us some food.

Carne Asada

Perfect tacos across from the repair shop. Guys there recomended it but as I learned same guy owns both mexican places. I was out trying to start the bike after but it wasn't staying running. The taqueria owner came along. Got gas?
yeah I got .. Checked in the tank ... no gas. I was thinking it was something else and not the obvious. Forgot that was the point I got off the freeway when I realized I had no headlight . I had rode right to a suggested parts store as it was getting dark and places were closing. I would have been stuck there for the night. Forgot all about getting gas. The owner drove me over to get gas, he grabbed a big bucket and we filled up some gas in that. They wouldn't let you fill a bucket full of gas in Anal Seattle. He didn't have a funnel so we poured the gas out into a glass jar which I then emptied into the tank. Felt like we were mixing up some moonshine. I told him his Taqueria in Arbuckle was my new favorite and I'd tell some friends about it.

Ray Caesar

I was at a gallery a week or so ago and they had some of Ray Caesar's prints there. Couldn't stop staring at them.

Most biker movies I find pretty lame and I just fast forward to the bike scenes. Naked Angels and Hells Angels on Wheels are the only two I've been able to watch from start to finish. Naked Angels reminds me more of a western than a typical biker film. A lot of killer bikes in it as well that make you want to press pause a lot.
